A One-Name Study is research into the genealogy and family history of all persons with the same surname. It is not just about any one particular family, or descendents of one person, or people living in the same country. It's an all-time and all-place project.

is the premier international organisation for people who have an interest in
One-Name Studies. Membership is open to all who have an interest in the subject -not just to those who are actually doing a Study. |
The Guild is registered as a charity in England and Wales, its registration number being 802048. Its main charitable objectives are:-
a) to advance the education of the public in one-name studies;
b) to promote the preservation and publication of the resultant data, and to maximise its accessibility to interested members of the public.
